And we're back!

I wish I could say I have been out adventuring, getting into crazy sorts of trouble and had many stories to share, but... I don't. The last year has mainly been one of intense focus and renewal. In fact I had even thought several times about taking this website down out of sheer guilt of not updating it (nor honestly having much of anything to update it with) but I knew I would regret it if I did.... so I'm going to give it another go. I've reached a point in my life where I think I can start allowing myself to seek out travel and opportunity again, and based on these feelings hope to start wrapping up some of my adventure goals in the near future (or at least working on them, if nothing else).

7-12-2007

Well, as can be scene, I've pretty much totally given up on trying to keep the journal going. Sadly there hasn't been a lot of change in activity for things on the list, life has pretty much been work, work, work. It's something, in theory, that will pay off down the road when it opens up the doors to other pathways. I'm amazed at my ability to stall on things, like finding an agent for the book. I've worked on it a little bit it looks like nothing has really changed since November of last year. And that's just sad. Of course, it's not too enthralling to send out query letters to agents and then wait forever to get something back, if you ever do. All part of the game.

I feel like I need to take some time to really look over the list and re-visit some of my goals and the general direction I'm going in. Things - especially money and time - are at a premium these days and are hard to come by. That's one thing about running your own business, there's always something that needs to be done. If you have your inventory under control, the customer's questions answered, things shipped out... then you can work on fun things like sales numbers and documentation. It's never ending. So much more rewarding then working for someone else though (although I am still doing that as well). I love doing things on my own terms & being able to make decisions about what I want to do with my business. I'd love to grow bigger and get involved with the whole horror theme somehow. Maybe someday. Always new opportunities out there.

No excuses any more, I'm just way too busy to update this site properly. We finally opened up our new business, Bombshell Clothing, and life hasn't been the same since. Free time, what little there was of it, has gone out the door.

But... starting a business (a "live" business vs an internet business) is a pretty amazing thing... we went from an empty shell of a store to something that is pretty darn impressive, and to hear people's comments when they come in is a great thing too... nearly everything we hear is positive, even from people who feel the style of the clothing is not for them.

We've also learned some harsh lessons that things do not always happen as you think they will. I don't know... things you can't anticipate until you are there.

For now we are taking it one day at a time and just trying to get the word of the store out there. Our initial goal is just to get it to support itself... world domination comes later.

Still working on finding an agent too. I haven't done anything since my last post here. I only need about an hour a week to work on it but somehow that never seems to happen....

9-14-2006

Make that the 4 month updating program... things have been very busy with trying to get store going. Nothing much to report. I've been busy - went to Reno, took care of a lot of things, but haven't exactly been doing a lot of "adventure list" items. I guess that's the way life is sometimes - more of a waiting game, even when you are totally busy.

5-25-2006

Every day seems to go so fast. I'm on the 2 month updating program, I think.

No super big news. I've been doing a lot - small trips, Las Vegas, things like that. Went Horseback riding for the first time. That was really fun, although I was sore for the next few days. Still preparing to open the store soon - we're just waiting for the word to go ahead. Right now they just need to lay the sidewalk.

I've been stalling on trying to do anything with my book. Every weekend I think I will get around to it and every weekend I don't. This is the part of writing that I never could get into, trying to sell your product. I need to, though. Soon. I've been done with the book for like 3 months now, that's kinda sad. This weekend.... I'm telling you... ha ha ha! We'll see.

3-18-2006

We just got back from an extended road trip after picking up a car in San Antonio and driving it back through Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. The main unusual thing about the trip was that we were driving a 1970 Cadillac Fleetwood Hearse! It was a fun trip except we broke down several times, leaving us stranded on the side of the road. Trust me, you don't want to go see "The Hills have Eyes" and then get stuck on the side of the interstate in Texas!! We did meet some great people though, everyone was very kind.

We are going forward with the retail store, called Bombshell Clothing. We've been approved to lease the building and will be opening soon, in about 2 months or so. It's what one would call "crazy scary". On some days it seems like there is no possible way it could work, other days it seems there is no way we could fail.

My novel is basically done except for a few final touches. Then it's time to find an agent, something new to me. Hopefully it won't prove to be too hard. It's very exciting to be in this position, naturally I hope it makes some money but even if it just sees the light of publishing, that will be really really cool. And I will get to cross off an adventure item too!

With this last trip, I was able to see the Alamo and also travel through 5 of the top 50 populated cities that I hadn't been to before (El Paso, Mesa, Phoenix, San Antonio and Tucson). We had wanted to stop at Tombstone and go to the OK corral, but with the way the car was acting we decided to save it for later and try to make it home.

So what's next on the list? Getting the store started... maybe becoming self employed if it does well enough... trying to get the book published... a small Vegas trip coming up in April... beyond that just take one day at a time and see what happens.

The Redemption Klothing Team (Greyson and Robin) at the Whaley House in San Diego, CA,
doing some ghost hunting (January 2006)

1-22-2006

Everything seems to be moving forward... we are still working on the idea of opening a retail store, although it is much more than a simple idea at this point, everything is in the works... we are basically just waiting for confirmation of the space that we wanted to lease, and the next step is to get the store set up and open! Pretty amazing...

Needless to say, that has been pretty time consuming... I feel so very guilty that I haven't really worked on anything on the list beyond watching endless Twilight Zone episodes (which is not really that much of an accomplishment, I must say, but it was fun) and reading Steinbeck books. It's frustrating that there is not more time in the day, but I have to be patient and remind myself of the bigger goal I am working on (which is working for myself). That's something not to be taken lightly. I also have other things in the works - I am slowly getting around to editing my book (I hate editing) and it's almost done. That will be exciting.

11-20-2005

Been busy... I suppose that goes without saying. We've been toying with the idea of opening up a retail store and either winding redemption klothing down, or minimizing it. It's a hard decision. For months we've been wanting to go farther with it but it's hard (and expensive) to keep doing what we are doing. Seems like maybe a retail store somewhat similar in nature would be the way to go. However, that also requires money (go figure) and a huge amount of time. The whole thing is kinda scary.

I've been working on my book as well, although not as fast as I should be. All I am doing is editing it, it shouldn't be that hard to do... somehow other things always seem to take priority over it. The good news is, when I do read over it, I am pretty happy with the results. I hope other people are too!

So my next step is trying to get the book finished (editing-wise) so I can look for an agent, and also trying to find more out about leasing commercial retail space. Not a lot of time for adventures in there, but I will get there eventually.

9-2-2005

Wow, the time flies by, doesn't it? We've been really busy over the last few weeks (ok, months) with the business and my other job and, and, and... yeah. Doesn't leave a lot of time for anything else. Plus, I don't know about where you are but here in California it is HOT. Staying inside is the way to go.

Could I come up with MORE excuses? Well, I suppose I could. But it is true, I've been very busy.

I bailed out on doing things around here for a mini-vacation last month too. It was just too hot - so I went to Vegas for a few days, where it was even hotter. Not if you stay in the casino though!

I want to really take a good look at my list here in the next few weeks and see what kind of things I can do. Travel right now is just not an option, but there should be plenty of things I could accomplish around here on the weekends.

Oh, one good bit of news - I did finish writing my book! Yay! Now I just have to edit the sucker and find an agent! That should be pretty exciting. I'm optimistic that I can hopefully get it published, but even if I don't, it's nice to have a written a book!

7-4-2005

Happy 4th of July! Hope everyone is out there doing something fun, or at the very least, not working. I did manage to get some new pictures up in the Misc Pictures section, so check those out!

Not much news to report. Things have been slow with work. It seems like there is either not enough time to go anywhere or not enough money. I did go on a small trip to New Hampshire for something work related, nothing like flying to the other side of the country for a total of 44 hours. If only I had time to get to Vermont I could have crossed that off my state list... but it was not to be.

6-10-2005

Well, I moved forward on one item - I got a tattoo I have been wanting for a long time! Head over to #72 to see a picture of that... I also went to Catalina island, which was quite beautiful. You can see the pictures of that over at #161.

I haven't updated this for a long time, almost 3 months. Things have been very busy. I'm done with college, which is great, but it seems like other things have grown in nature so that I don't have a lot of extra free time. I'm still working on leaving Verizon, although that is at least a year away, from what I can gauge. Redemption is doing well and I am always looking for ways to make that grow.

As for our next adventure, I am looking at going to some more zoos and aquariums in the near future - it's an easy thing to do if one just finds the time. Somehow there never seems to be any time, though. I am planning a trip to Ohio as well to visit both Cedar Point and Paramount King's Island. I've been to the first one before. but not to the second. That will move me a little closer towards my roller coaster and theme park items. With some luck (and if it stays cool here in California) I can visit some of the theme parks around here as well. It's been awhile!

3-13-2005

I am pretty amazed... I only have 4 more days of college and I am done! It's a great feeling to be able to finish that stage of my life. It will be nice to not have school to worry about anymore, so that I can focus on some other things in life.

Looks like I will be going to Catalina Island soon as well! I can't wait, it should be very relaxing. I'm ready for a week without being around a computer!

2-9-2005

Wow, this year is really going by quick! It's kind of scary that you can theoretically turn around and it seems like it's months later. Things have been going good, though. I've kept very busy with doing things like expanding the store and going to Vegas. Can't go wrong there! I actually spent a three day weekend in Vegas a few weeks ago, staying at the Tropicana, and it was really fun. I'll be going back in April for my friend's wedding, and then it looks like again in September for another wedding. There's also a clothing and shoe convention in there that we will probably need to hit for Redemption Klothing. Thankfully, Vegas is only a few hours away!

Haven't had a lot of time to work on anything for the adventure list, although I did get to cross off a theme park and a roller coaster, thanks to Vegas (Although I had been in the Adventuredome in Circus Circus, I hadn't actually been on the coaster yet). Getting pretty close to completing the theme park adventure item! I've been working a lot on school also, I'm finishing my last real class today and starting my final "capstone" course tomorrow. Just a short 35 more days and I'll be done with my degree!

My next main goal after that is to finish my book. I'm feeling really positive about it, and it finally looks like I might be getting some time to work on it. I just have to keep it in mind - my main problem is I get side tracked by the 10,000 other things I have going on and then realize I haven't thought about it for the last two weeks. I'm trying to remind myself to just keep moving forward every day.

12-26-04

I hope everyone had a good Christmas out there, I know I did! It was good to spend Christmas in the new house.

Watch out, as I have a new book full of top 10 lists. I can't wait to go through it and find some more things to add to the site here! Of course, that means I actually need to get the time to do some of those things... but I'm getting there, eventually. I get frustrated some times at not being able to add more items to the completed list here, but I'm trying to keep in mind all of the other things I am working on, like school and Redemption Klothing. Not only that, I am really close to finishing my first novel, and that would be a major accomplishment (let alone if I can sell it!).

I did go to Florida, by the way, and that was great fun. I hit four theme parks - Busch Gardens in Tampa, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Discovery Cove, all in Orlando... it was a lot of fun and we got to go on a lot of roller coasters. I've been on most of them already, but I did manage to add a few to the roller coaster list. I also signed up to go ghost hunting with www.hauntedorlando.com, and that was really fun. Check them out if you are in Orlando, it's well worth the money!

11-27-04

Well, maybe I shouldn't make promises that I can't keep! Haven't been able to get out to do much of anything interesting. That is mostly due to school, as I am taking two classes right now (electronically) that consume a huge amount of my time. The good news is I only have a week left to go, and they will both be over. My next class starts up in January for 5 weeks, and then I take my final class. I'll be done with school forever! Or at least, that's what I think.

Meanwhile, Redemption Klothing continues to expand. Running your own business is pretty cool! I think it is to the point where I could do it full time now if I wanted to. Still some work to go before I could do that, though.

I've decided not to go to Hawaii in December, mostly because of the cost of plane tickets. Not cheap! Maybe next year, I was really excited about going and fulfilling some of the adventure list items there. Instead I am are going to Orlando, which is surprisingly cheap compared to some other areas. Planning on going to Islands of Adventure, Busch Gardens (in Tampa) and Discovery Cove - the latter sounds like a really cool place, only 1,000 people are allowed in per day and you get to actually get in the water with dolphins and manta rays. I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm taking some time off of work the week before we go as well, and I think I'll see if Ican fit in a trip to the La Brea tar pits one day.

10-15-04

Here it is, almost Halloween... I've been busy but not with anything too interesting, sadly. We've been working a LOT on the business and it's growing by leaps and bounds (in fact, we have our first print ad coming out soon), and that takes up a ton of time. I've also doubled up on my classes at school so I can get that over with - just 4 more to go! I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Once school ends and our time opens up a bit more, I am intending on getting out to Catalina, the La Brea Tar Pits, and some other cool places around here.

In December I might try to plan a trip to Hawaii to take care of a few of the items on the adventure list - seeing an active volcano and going to the Mauna Loa Observatory. It's not exactly cheap though so I will have to see what we can afford at the time. It would be nice to get away to a relatively new area, it's been months since I have been out of state.

9-9-04

Well, the big moving day has come and gone. The new house is beautiful and has a LOT more space. So far the move has gone great, although it's been exhausting moving everything back and forth. The old house is about 50 miles away so any trip over there eats up a big part of the day.

No big changes to the site... I simply haven't had time to do anything. I did buy Dante's Inferno, which I have been meaning to read, so that's something! Once everything gets settled I will hopefully get the time to do some exploring around these parts and see what trouble I can get into...

7-22-04

Not too much has changed lately - still working hard on all the usual stuff. The threat of moving is looming ahead but not yet here. That should be interesting! I've been working hard on the the novel and I am hoping to have the basic framework completed pretty soon. I'm finishing up another class - SQL for business - and will be starting another one in just over two weeks. This leaves around five classes to go before I get my somewhat unwanted degree in Information Technology. It will be good to be done. I started this program years ago and there have been so many times that I wanted to just call it quits, but here I am, almost at the point of getting a degree.

I've felt really stagnant lately, not for lack of things to do as we are busy all the time, nor for the lack of being successful as the business is picking up every week and only getting bigger and bigger. I think the problem is time - I've been so busy with working full time on two jobs and doing everything else that there just isn't enough time left for anything besides a movie now and then (ok, and trips to the local casinos). It's hard for me to see the bigger picture at times.

Speaking of casinos, I did pretty well (finally) at one of the local casinos here in southern California. Blackjack was most certainly my friend. I had just read "the complete book of Blackjack" which made me think that I had picked up some sort of magical skill that made me play like a wizard, but I think it was more a case of getting some good hands and knowing when to quit. It's gonna be time for #146 soon - the Vegas gambling spree!

7-2-04

Things are still rolling along with moving. Looks like I will be heading to a new house about 45 minutes East of here. Kinda sad to be moving away from the Los Angeles area, but it will be good for a change.

5-30-04

I got to Vegas recently, and that was very cool. Vegas is my home away from home (ha). I saw the Blue Man Group for a second time, hung out on Fremont street and tried to win big (which I didn't). I made my largest single bet ever - $100 bucks - at the blackjack table and lost (I only had $50 down, but hey, you have to double on an 11). It was a great trip and I'm ready to go back! There is an annual clothing conference there in August so that's probably the next time I will be able to go.

5-5-04

Here I am again.... updates here are getting to be few and far between. Perhaps a sign that I am working too much? Certainly. I've been pretty active although not doing anything specifically on the list (I think, I have to check!). A few weeks ago got to go down to the Wild Animal Park in Escondido and took their special photo caravan tour, where you go out with the animals in a big jeep-type thing. It was really cool, and very worth the money. You even got to feed Giraffes and Rhinos by hand. VERY COOL. I'm just waiting for the pictures to come back now! This last weekend I stayed down at the Hyatt on Sunset in West Hollywood. That was pretty cool too, I had a room on the 7th floor looking out over the sunset strip. Took a long drive into Beverly Hills, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, and on Mulholland Drive as well.

3-29-04

Wow, it's been a long time since I updated the journal! In a way that can attest to how busy I have been. Too bad it hasn't been busier with completing adventures, though. Most of my  time lately has been consumed with working on the business, working on my  normal job and other such things. I did get to go down to Ventura last month and stay in the Pierpont inn - a really cool place to visit if you ever get the chance.

Yesterday, I went down to Long Beach and tried my hand at whale watching. It was pretty cool, and a lot less expensive that I thought it would be. While we did see one whale, that part of it was a bit disappointing. We only saw the plume from the whale's blowhole a few times, and a glimpse of it's back before it went back under the water. Even with that, being out on the ocean was very cool and well worth our time and money. We'll be back!

2-4-04

Not too much to report. We've been spending a lot of time working on Redemption Klothing - in fact, it has pretty much taken up all of my free time. It's pretty exciting - I've started a few businesses but they've never taken off to the point that this has. A clothing store....who would have thunk it. Certainly not me. Now if I could only quit my day job!

I have been working on the book I mentioned in the last entry - up to around 55,000 words now, something like that. Trying to chip away at it a little each day. I also signed back up for school so I can complete the degree I'm aiming for  - a BA in IT. It will be nice to get that done, but I still have a good year to go.

I'll cross something new off the adventure list soon, I vow it! Actually, there are some revisions I want to make - things I am no longer interested in - so the list will be changing somewhat pretty soon. Maybe even today, depending on how motivated I get....

1-7-04

I'm starting the year with a clean slate... no trips planned, nothing on my agenda. Well, no trips planned outside of my mind, at any rate! We've been pretty busy with getting our clothing business going - not as easy as one would think. With that done "for now" I am going after a couple of different items on the list, such as going on a whale watching expedition and seeing some of the other places around Los Angeles that I have access to. I'm also working hard on my book and am determined to get that finished this year. I'm at about 45,000 words right now, so I still have a way to go. Not far, though!

12-11-03

Back from Baltimore, although I didn't get to do a lot. Got hit by a pretty bad storm, and on top of that I was trying to recover from a cold, so I decided not to venture out to find all of the Poe stuff that I wanted to see (although I did get to see an authentic Maryland Raven!). Next time.

My next trip up is to Newark, NJ. Not a lot to do there, although if I get the chance I do want to drive down to Red Bank where Kevin Smith filmed a lot of his movies. After that, Christmas will be here and it will be time for some rest and relaxation - or another trip to Vegas.

Oh, I did get to go see a good comedy show, Dane Cook, at the Ontario Improv. I've been wanting to see him for awhile so I was happy to get the chance. Check him out!

11-14-03

Back from Philadelphia and done with work travel for a little bit... longer than a week, anyway, which is nice. I'll be heading out before I know it to Baltimore for a few days. Hopefully I will get the time to sneak away and see Poe's grave as well as the Aquarium there (the first aquarium in the country).

Is it almost 2004 already? Sheesh!

10-30-03

I spent the last week in Brooklyn, culminating with a 26 hour trip home due to the smoke caused by the fires in California (I ended up spending the night in St. Louis). The trip was good and I was able to see a lot of NYC - the empire state building, grand central station, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, and so much more. I even took the subway down to Coney Island but wasn't able to get there before it closed. Next time!

Next up for me is a trip to Philadelphia, and then trips later this year to Brooklyn and Newark. Going to try to see Catalina Island here at home as well. Also, I made it to Knott's Berry Farm a few weeks ago! I can finally say I have been to all of the major theme parks in California - not an easy feat!!

9-26-03

Actually the plan got changed a little bit - ended up getting rescheduled for going to Brooklyn and will now be going to Springfield, Mass instead. There's still the possibility of getting some adventure item things in - if nothing else I'll be landing at an airport in Connecticut so there's another state down. If I get ambitious I can drive to New Hampshire and Vermont also (and damn, with those down, I will be close to Maine.... ooh, it's tempting). Salem is about 2 hours away so I am hoping if nothing else, I can go there for a few hours. All depends on how much work there is to do.

9-10-03

Looks like I am going to be going to Brooklyn soon for work. Not sure if I will get the time to venture into the city, but from what I hear Times Square is right around the center, so I should be able to get a couple of list items done. Would be a shame to go all that way and not be able to see anything!

9-2-03

Went to Las Vegas and Laughlin over the recent holiday weekend. Had a lot of fun and played Spanish 21 for the first time (no, it's not just blackjack in Spanish!). Laughlin was an... interesting... place. Not sure how to really describe it after spending so much time in Las Vegas. Suffice it to say that it has its own level of charm. In Vegas I stayed at a new hotel - well, an old hotel but a new one for us, the Fitzgerald on Fremont street. Was a lot better than I thought it was going to be.

8-26-03

Hasn't been a lot going on lately in terms of Adventures. Spent quite a bit of time over in Winnipeg for the last few weeks and now that I am back home I am in "home owner" mode, which means lots of trips to Home Depot for various pieces and parts. I wanted to take some vacation later this year and try to work on some of the things here, but I'm not sure at this point if that will happen or not - instead I might try to concentrate on some things around the Los Angeles area. I have a tentative idea of maybe going to Australia next year but that is very much in the early planning stage at this point - basically that just means that I thought about it, and it sounds nice. We'll see though. It would be nice to add another continent to the list.

7-22-03

Been really busy lately and haven't had a chance to catch up here... had a great trip in Vegas over the 4th of July weekend and found out I had to go to Winnipeg, Canada for work the week after I got back. Winnipeg seems like a nice enough city and the people are all pretty nice (well, the ones that I met, anyway). I'll be spending quite a bit of time up there again in the next few weeks.

6-12-03

Not too much going on at the moment. Had a great rainy weekend down in San Diego last week, visiting both the famous San Diego Zoo and the not so famous San Diego Wild Animal Park out in Escondido, about 30 miles away from San Diego. The zoo was cool but the Wild Animal Park is incredible. You owe it to yourself to check it out.

The weekend before that I decided to stay the night in Hollywood and then spend the next day at Universal Studios. It was cool, I liked it - but I thought the Florida version was a little better, at least in terms of rides. It was very fun to see the sets where famous movies had been filmed at, though.

Next adventure is going to be spending some time in Las Vegas coming up here in a few weeks. After that - hard to say. I heard some news that I might be going to West Virginia later this year. That would be another state off the list.

5-15-03

Got the chance to stay on the Queen Mary (now a hotel) and do some ghost hunting on it... a very cool place to stay.

Things have been busy since then. Lots of work going on. Starting another class today, which means there will be less time in the future. Sigh. I will be happy once I am done with school, I think. It almost makes me want to take a huge number of classes at once just to get it over with. Can't realistically do that though. I'm just going to have to suffer through them until next year when it will all be over.

Looking forward to going to San Diego in a few weeks. I haven't been there since last September. I think I will try to hit the zoo and maybe go out to the Wild Animal Park in Escondido. Maybe go on the coaster down in Belmont Park too. That's always fun.

I'm slowly plotting what my next few adventures will be. I've revised the site a little bit, added some things and removed some other things. A few of my goals have changed, that's for sure.

4-21-03

Had a great time seeing Hearst Castle and everything it had to offer. Went on tours 1 and 2. I'd like to go back someday and go on tour 5, which is the night time one... but that can wait for now.

3-28-03

Is it almost April already? Where does the time go?

I'm finishing up another class in my plodding sloth-like attempt to get a bachelor's degree. I'll finish Visual Basic Programming this week and start on Advanced VB in a few weeks. Fun, but very hard to do as an online class.

California adventure was a pretty fun theme park although it ranks pretty low when compared to the other major parks. It's nice for something different but don't break a leg trying to get there. It was cool to see the famed electrical parade though.

3-17-03

This is the longest I have gone without getting on a plane for some time (last flight was on 1-15-03). Pretty amazing. I think I have been averaging at least one trip a month for the last 3 years or so.

In general adventure news, got some theme park activity coming up (yay!!). Planning on going to California Adventure next weekend (unless California gets another rainstorm) and then trying to hit Knott's Berry Farm a few weeks after that. Have trips planned too - going to Hearst Castle in April, and staying at the bizarre Madonna Inn... May will bring another trip to San Diego for visiting the zoo and the wild animal park... and then in July going to Vegas for the 4th. That should be fun. Hopefully will also be flying back to New Mexico to do some exploring there and maybe taking a drive into Mexico itself, as I have yet to go there.

3-7-03

I forgot to mention that I had the opportunity to go see Mitch Hedberg do stand-up at the Improv in Ontario. He is a very funny cat and worth seeking out. You can catch him on Comedy Central once in awhile too. SUPPORT STAND UP COMEDY!!

3-2-03

Just a quick note to say that I made it to California and have been busy for the last few weeks trying to get my new office together. I'm hoping to update with some pics pretty soon! I knocked off at least one item on my adventure list, did a bunch of ghost hunting and even made it to Disneyland (with a trip to Disney's California Adventure coming soon).

2-6-03

Tonight is the night... the last night of my DSL connection. Sigh. This 56k business, how is it done again? This may be the last update for a bit of time. Hopefully not too long. Robin and I are about to take off on the trip to my new home, leaving in the central time zone in just a few short days. The mystery of why prime time TV shows are shown at 7pm in Texas will have to remain unsolved for now. Soon enough I will be back on the pacific coast, researching new adventures and adding a new state to the places I have lived in.

Wish me luck! New pictures.... soon... hopefully.....

The route from Dallas to Los Angeles will be a bit different than what most would take. Thanks to Robin's careful paranormal planning, we'll be hitting a number of paranormal hot spots along the way. Our first step will be to hit a few places outside of Abilene, Texas. There are two cemeteries there, new hope and fort phantom, both with reports of paranormal activity... from there we will head west across Texas and then northwest up through Roswell, New Mexico. Everyone knows what happened there about half a century ago... that's right. I'm not expecting to see anything, but hey...you never know, right? Continuing further northwest we will hit Albuquerque and then drive north up to the St. James hotel in Cimmaron, up near the Colorado border. From there we have to back track a bit, back down to Albuquerque, and from there we head over to Jerome, Arizona (stopping to see the meteor crater along the way). From there it's a short trip (well, a trip) to Vegas and then home to California....

Happy new year, everyone! I have been away for quite awhile, jumping between Texas, California and Washington. Just had a really good weekend in California - no formal adventures, so to speak, but I did get to see Joe Rogan do his comedy routine, something I have been wanting to do for a few years now. That was a lot of fun - a big surprise for anyone who only knows him from Fear Factor.

Got great news... I received permission to relocate to California! I'm not sure when exactly I will be making the move but it should be very, very soon, probably within the next month. A lot of planning to be done! Soon will be driving 30 hour trip from Texas to California. Along the way I will get to cross off New Mexico from my "go to every state" list, and I am going to try to make a stop in southern Arizona to complete some of the adventures there.

12-9-02

Just got back from a trip to Tampa... looks like lots of traveling coming up in my future for work next year. Nowhere new, though... unfortunately. I did do some research on a few things I wanted to do while I was in Tampa and I will be adding that to the list soon. December should shape up to be a busy month, in between extensive things at work, spending the holidays in California, and finishing up the C++ programming class. I should be ready for Christmas around March, I am thinking....depending on how the programming goes I will try to get some more stuff up here this weekend.

11-29-02

Well... taking a C++ programming class has basically killed any chance of me doing anything fun lately. I have to say - traveling for work and taking programming courses are 2 things that do NOT exactly mix together. This is going to be my life for the next few months... so I guess I better get used to it.

Got a couple trips coming up in the future - next week I will be heading back to Tampa for the 6th time this year. Feeling like I might as well rent an apartment there. I was there last week as well and got to go to both Busch Gardens and Islands of Adventure. Next trip after that will be back to California for Christmas.

You know, after all the traveling I have done this year, I am going to be within 1,000 miles for qualifying for Gold status with American Airlines (the elusive 25,000 mile mark). I could have been well over but I have had to fly on Delta, US Air, etc this year. Sigh... so close and yet so far.

11-3-02

Vegas was fun, as it always is. I played blackjack at the tables for the first time and even managed to come home with some money. Not more than when I left for Vegas, true, but at least I had SOME. The Blue Man Group was very cool and I heartily recommend it to anyone passing through the area. We even got to be part of the show!

Next adventure will be walking on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, something I have been looking forward to for quite some time...

10-10-02

Had a lot of fun in LA, and investigating the ghosts of San Diego was awesome. Went to Belmont Park in SD & rode the classic coaster there. I've wanted to live in SD for a long time, now I want to even more.

Was going to go to the Alamo here in Texas, but the 5 hour drive is a little much for me to think about for a day trip right now.

Next trip is coming up soon, going to Las Vegas. Always a good time to be had there. I don't think I am going to get to cross anything off my list, but you never know. I AM going to go see the Blue Man Group, finally. That should be fun, and I have reserved "Poncho Seats" so... we'll see what that means.
